Bringing life to the daily lives of hospitalized children

Dear Difteurs, Thank you for your loyal support of the Kolibri workshops: it is thanks to you that our programs for sick children and teens will resume! For over two weeks now, we have reunited with our teams and are actively working to resume our travel workshops for our young participants.& A challenge we take on every year : recruiting and training young facilitators, welcoming new travelers with big hearts to join us, reconnecting with healthcare and education professionals to form a team—not to mention new destinations to discover and wonderful adventures to embark on! We can’t wait to get started on a new year… especially since this year will be a bit special: L’enfant@l’hôpital will celebrate its 40th anniversary at the end of 2026! That’s a very (very!) special milestone, and we’re truly proud of how long we’ve been around. When we look back at the journey we’ve taken and all the children we’ve supported… we’re truly very grateful because all of this, is above all thanks to everyone’s generosity! So thank you, thank you, thank you! P.S.: We’ll keep you posted on our anniversary… but before the celebrations, there’s work to be done to kick off this new year focused on discovery, sharing, and warm, human connections—to rediscover the joy of living and the love of learning! Dear Difteurs, In the privileged moments of exchange during workshops, Kolibri offers young hospitalized patients an opportunity to regain confidence in themselves, to re-establish secure bondswith participants and the facilitator. Self-esteem grows, a taste for life is felt in a joyful, warm space. * The debates and discussions that take place during the workshops give pride of place to expression without judgment, where everything can be said, in tranquility, * The sensory, artistic and creative experiences set up by our animators and animatrices enable young people to rediscover sensations and express simple emotions that bring them closer to reality, far from their mental disorders or personal difficulties. It's never easy to measure the impactof our workshops on the young people we support, as we engage in a concerted accompaniment pathway with the professional teams. Some strong feedback reinforces us in the usefulness of our actions. It was in Toulouse at the Purpan Hospital, that Fanny, our volunteer animator, received the most beautiful mark of recognition for her accompaniment: L. has managed to get back to school (after being refused) and will be taking her Brevet exam in June. It was through weekly exchanges with Bryan and Sébastien, 2 young travelers from the association, that she felt confident. Bravo to our animators for their commitment, creativity and passion for transmission and THANK YOU to you for enabling us to take action.
