Getting people back to work

Dear Difteurs and Difteuses, Recently, Emmaüs Défi had the pleasure of taking part in the very first edition of the "Faire Village" festival, a participatory event organized within Césure. For four days, this hybrid venue was transformed into a veritable laboratory of ideas, bringing together artists, architects, craftspeople, social and solidarity economy structures and associations around a common ambition:imagining new ways of living together. Emmaüs Défi proposed a creative and committed program, consistent with its values of reuse and solidarity. The high point of this participation: the collective production of a fresco designed entirely from second-hand materials. A concrete and inspiring way to give new life to objects, while encouraging exchanges and cooperation between participants.🗨️ A screen-printing workshop was also on offer to the public, enabling them to personalize clothing and objects while raising awareness of more responsible consumption.♻️ This first edition of "Faire Village" was a great opportunity for Emmaüs Défi to meet new audiences and contribute to a collective reflection around more sustainable lifestyles. Dear Difteurs and Difteuses, Because we know you like to hear from us, we'd like to inform you that the team at la Banque Solidaire de l'Équipement, is very pleased to announce that this month it passed the milestone of 40,000 beneficiary households, supported since 2013 within its five branches. As a reminder, the Banque Solidaire de l'Équipement (BSE) is a scheme launched by Emmaüs Défi to combat poor housing, particularly situations of "camping" within the home, caused by a lack of means to equip oneself with essential furniture and equipment. BSE beneficiaries are welcomed into a dedicated space, designed as a show flat, where they can choose their equipment atsolidarity prices, before receiving it directly delivered to their home. The BSE operates entirely thanks to donations of unsold goods from partner companies: end-of-series products, unsold goods or customer returns, which thus find a second life in the service of solidarity.
