Solution
Habit'âge was born of a deep conviction: housing is much more than a roof, it's a place of life, connection and dignity for everyone, at every age of life.
Habit'âge is guided by a fundamental value: the self-determination of seniors. Every senior must be able to decide where they live and the conditions in which they wish to grow old, with full citizenship, dignity and serenity in a society that fosters social ties.
To combat poor housing and social isolation, Habit'âge offers 3 solutions:
- The association creates solidarity-based senior housing from the restoration of dilapidated buildings in the heart of market towns, based on solidarity and cooperation to enable the elderly to age with dignity, comfort and connection. Today, there are 3 houses open in Maine-et-Loire, accommodating 14 tenants and mobilizing some 30 volunteers to bring the communal areas to life. Every year, dozens of times are shared with other isolated seniors in the area.
- Habit'âge also runs workshops and awareness-raising sessions on housing to give seniors the keys to understanding and making an informed choice about their future living environment, in full awareness and freedom. More than 800 retired people have already benefited from this collective support, co-constructed with the participants.
- Finally, the association passes on its know-how to public and private players, particularly in rural areas, throughout France, via 2 transmission courses, one on habitat creation and the other on running workshops to support people in their choice of living environment.
.The money will be used for
By donating to the Habit'âge association, you will enable them:
- to continue to lead the social life project of the open houses;
- to accompany more elderly people on their reflection on the choice of living;
- to develop the transmission of know-how and enable the development of supportive senior housing in France
...but also to continue to spread the cooperative gesture and the message of self-determination for seniors!

1 hour of workshop with an elderly person = 10 €
The project is waiting for its first donation!
