Solution
Thanks to this project, the indigenous communities of Xingu can effectively protect their lands and traditional way of life from massive deforestation while preserving their heritage. The project aims to finance equipment as well as monitoring expeditions led by indigenous rangers. The equipment required includes, in particular, the acquisition of drones enabling the rapid detection of illegal activities in the native reserve.
This project not only supports the conservation of one of the world's largest carbon sinks, the Amazon rainforest, essential against global warming, but also of one of the regions with the greatest wealth of biodiversity on the planet.
The project is located in the Rio Xingu Great Reserve, which includes the territories of the Kayapo people and the Xingu Indigenous Territory (TIX) in Brazil.
