Developing local organic farming

To improve the integration of biodiversity into agriculture, Terre de Liens has planned several phases:

On Terre de Liens farms: Support for 75 farms through biodiversity assessments and implementation of measures. The assessments will result in two types of recommendations: changes to agricultural practices (late mowing, adjustments to the grazing schedule and rotation) and the creation or restoration of agroecological infrastructure. 

In local communities: The creation of exchange networks among farmers will bring together, at the local level, both Terre de Liens and non-Terre de Liens farmers. The goal is to create core groups of committed farmers who are evolving their practices to incorporate biodiversity conservation. These networks will facilitate the sharing of experiences among peers.

At the national level: Developing advocacy efforts will help influence public policy by drawing on examples from our farms regarding biodiversity conservation. We will also develop training initiatives, such as webinars, to highlight key challenges and innovative solutions. We have decided to dedicate the year 2024 to biological life and soil fertility, which are closely linked to biodiversity conservation.
