SOCIAL CHALLENGES - Combating social isolation: 530,000 seniors were in a situation of social death in 2021, compared with 300,000 in 2017. 2 million seniors isolated from family and friendship circles in 2021, they were 900,000 in 2017.
INCLUSIVE CHALLENGES: given the social isolation of our seniors, they have become invisible. The idea is to "give them back their place" in today's society and create intergenerational links.
HEALTH CHALLENGES - Combating undernutrition: France is the 3rd country in Europe most affected by social isolation and undernutrition among the elderly. In the 65-75 age bracket, malnutrition affects 3 to 5% of the population. Over the age of 80, it is estimated that it reaches 30% of subjects, becoming a risk factor for hospitalization and loss of autonomy.
Solution
The aim of ÉTOILÉS & SOLIDAIRES is to:
- reinspire seniors to get out of their homes to go to restaurants. Getting moving helps maintain autonomy;

- restoring self-esteem: isolated seniors have regained a taste for getting ready before going to the restaurant (dressing, styling, hygiene care). Physical well-being naturally has an impact on morale;
- create social, local and intergenerational ties;
- reinspire seniors to eat healthily and, in so doing, combat undernutrition.

Happy birthday Etoilés et Solidaires - 6 years 🎂 !
Dear difteurs,
🎂 Last October, we celebrated the 6 years of our association Étoilés et Solidaires. This was only possible thanks to those who have participated in our collective mobilization since the beginning of our adventure!
👨🏻🦳👩🏻🦳 Since our inception, 9350 seniors have taken part in our initiatives:
- La Table de nos Aînés X Salariés
- Invite an Elder to Lunch;
- Chefs & Personalities deliver or invite themselves to our Elders' homes;
- editions, "Chefs d'un jour" on the set of Top Chef de M6 ...
- A regional development 🇫🇷 of our restaurant initiatives, which is progressing month by month.
Today, our initiatives; "Invite an Elder to Lunch" and "La Table de nos Aînés" are developing in the following territories: Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Indre, Cher, Paris, Rhône-Alpes, Languedoc-Roussillon, Aquitaine, Département du Nord and since yesterday, Bretagne and Mayenne.
🙏 A immense THANK YOU to all of you, who have followed or supported our initiatives since our beginnings. This anniversary is a collective one.
😉 Please don't hesitate to continue your support so that many seniors and their carers can benefit from our happy establishments at the restaurant. Our tables, in duets or groups, enable them to :
- Create or restore social ties between seniors and their carers;
- Combat undernutrition;
- Maintain the autonomy of our seniors, as well as that of their carers (in particular, family caregivers), who have sometimes become "invisible".
