Solution
Young people in the Télémaque program are selected as early as 5th grade based on their academic aptitude and vulnerable socioeconomic status. While any student may encounter academic difficulties, it is often more challenging for a student from a low-income background to overcome them due to family and economic factors. Thus, a student whose parent(s) include at least one executive, self-employed individual, or college graduate is less likely to leave school without a diploma if they exhibit the same characteristics.
Through individualized support, Télémaque identifies weaknesses in core subjects and helps prevent situations where students are at risk of dropping out by providing tutoring.
Each year, 15 to 20% of Télémaque high school students from low-income backgrounds who are at risk of dropping out receive academic tutoring to stay on track for success.
