Solution
On December 9, 2024, Mayotte was hit by a violent cyclone, plunging thousands of already precarious families into a critical situation. Populations living in shantytowns are bearing the brunt of this crisis, while access to reliable, up-to-date information remains a major challenge.
To respond to this emergency, Soliguide, a platform already tried and tested in 38 French departments, is mobilizing.
Free, anonymous and accessible on the internet, mobile app, or paper guides, Soliguide references all local initiatives: food aid, social support, medical care, and much more.
During major crises - such as the COVID-19 pandemic or the reception of Ukrainian refugees - Soliguide has proved its effectiveness, enabling millions of people to quickly access adapted services.
Today, we need your help to deploy this vital tool in Mayotte!"
The project aims to:
- Map aid services in Mayotte, to identify available resources.
- Disseminating reliable information, essential to help professionals, volunteers and beneficiaries.
- Strengthening coordination between local players, to respond rapidly to the needs of the most vulnerable.
The money will be used for
Your donations will be used to:
1. Create an exhaustive map of aid services available in Mayotte in the emergency and then over time.
Draw up an exhaustive map of places useful to vulnerable populations, starting with immediate priorities: access to food, drinking water, and housing. And keep them up to date.
2. Facilitate access to these services for precarious populations, particularly those affected by the cyclone.
Implement adapted supports and offer direct guidance to beneficiaries via SMS, Whatsapp and voice messages in Shimaoré (the local language mainly spoken), enabling clear, personalized guidance by a social worker for those who have no access to conventional supports.
3. Strengthen coordination between local social action players.
Collect and analyze research and feedback on the tool to continuously adjust the offer of help. Produce analysis reports for local decision-makers and associative players, to better understand the needs of populations and guide long-term priorities.
