The Cuiscaf project supports local communities in Cuispes, Peru, in the production of sustainable shade coffee and the reforestation of indigenous trees to combat deforestation linked mainly to coffee growing, and thus preserve the Amazon rainforest and its biodiversity.

Solution
Cuiscaf, in partnership with the NGO Ecoan, is working to preserve Andean forests and their biodiversity, particularly the endangered marvel hummingbird.
The project promotes coffee growing in the shade of native trees, a method that combats deforestation while promoting reforestation. This innovative approach protects unique ecosystems while supporting development economic local.
By training farmers to produce coffee sustainable of quality, Cuiscaf creates a balance between environmental conservation and improved living conditions for communities. In this way, the project demonstrates that responsible agriculture and biodiversity preservation can go hand in hand.
The money will be used for
The donations collected will be used to develop:
- the production of coffee seedlings and seedlings of native species in nurseries,
- environmental awareness in schools,
- capacity building for farmers,
- the creation of a protected area to safeguard biodiversity,
- and the establishment of an ecotourism activity.
