The project

SolidarityWomen rights
Banlieues Santé organizes emergency actions to meet the health needs of people living in priority neighborhoods. The association also provides reception, training and awareness-raising facilities on health issues for residents of these areas.
41
%
of residents of priority neighbourhoods forego healthcare, compared with 30% in other neighbourhoods
37
%
fewer self-employed healthcare professionals in priority neighbourhoods than in other neighbourhoods
45
%
of residents in priority neighbourhoods have a health problem

Solution

Banlieues Santé works for quality healthcare and access to health information for all.

To achieve this goal, the association has developed two types of action:
In the short term, with the implementation of emergency aid: distribution of hygiene kits, access to an ophthalmological consultation and a free pair of glasses, awareness-raising actions...In the long term, with various support programs to make residents players in their own health: the Café des Biens-Aînés, the Café des Femmes or the project for a Health Center in Marseille.

Why we love it?

The holistic approach of Banlieues Santé, created by serial assopreneur Abdelaali, a nurse by profession, brings effective solutions to health issues in the suburbs (which he means in his original definition of "banished places") by getting to the root of the problem.

Solidarity and proximity as the starting point for our commitment.
