Solution
My Human Kit runs a place open to all called "the Humanlab". People with disabilities are accompanied by volunteers and employees in the self-fabrication of a solution adapted to their needs, financially accessible and whose remanufacturing plans are freely shared.
My Human Kit thus aims to defend and carry disability as a difference synonymous with richness and motivation, but also to promote the development of accessible solutions and develop the empowerment of people affected by disability.

Reading Braille drawings with BrailleRap: opensource Braille embosser
Dear difteurs,
Thanks to your contributions, we continue to experiment! For several years now, together with a whole community, we've been developing the BrailleRap: an open source machine capable of embossing braille and "simply" manufacturable.
Our latest challenge: to develop vector graphics and drawings to test the possibility of "printing" something other than Braille, such as street and building plans, geographical maps, or why not an ultrasound drawing of an unborn baby?
The field of possibilities is vast, but the most important thing is to involve the people concerned in identifying the right relief patterns and textures to enable a drawing or plan to be "read" when you can't see or see very little.
So we organized a workshop with four visually impaired people. The aim of this workshop was to carry out two essential tests:
- What is the best dot pattern to "feel" a drawing?
- What is the ability to distinguish one pattern from another on a more complex drawing (for example, telling the difference between land and sea on a map)?
These exchanges were very enriching and provided valuable lessons for the future!
And as usual, we made sure to document everything to share the knowledge!

Cybathlon silver medal for Bionicohand: MHK's open-source hand prosthesis 🦾
Dear difteurs,
Two weeks after our participation in the Cybathlon, we're still on cloud nine! 🌥️ This techno-sports event, the largest in the world dedicated to assistive devices for people with disabilities, was an incredible experience. 🤩
The Cybathlon brings together players (companies, universities, research institutes...) from all over the world to test their innovations for the handicap, through various courses. The event is a showcase for putting assistive technologies to work in real-life situations.
The Bionicohand, our open source bionic hand, completed 90% of the daily tasks in the prosthetic arm race and with the best time (6:08) 🦾 In the final, the Bionicohand took the silver medal 🥈
The result marks an important milestone in our mission to make the technical aids more accessible and accepted by amputees. Here's what made this success possible:
1) Users at the center of the R&D process to validate each step
2) Technological projects developed through collective intelligence and solidarity
3) Sharing in open source hardware
