Cop1 Solidarités Etudiantes

On April 16 was held Cop1 On Ice for the Paris Cop1s. An opportunity for volunteers and beneficiaries to get together on the ice track at the Accor Arena. More than 500 students and 30 volunteers were on hand to melt the ice to a diverse array of music. We're not going to lie we saw quite a few falls, but also some great tricks... so there was plenty of opportunity to discover a new vocation!

COP1 ON ICE IN PARIS!

On March 6 was held the Cop1 Lové.es Festival in Angers! 

An event that brought together over 200 students to spend an exceptional evening. On the program a free concert featuring several artists.This festival was part of the University of Angers' gender month. A fine partnership between the university's cultural center and Cop1 to bring students an exceptional evening. 

In addition to the concert, there were many stands: such as afriperie solidaire, a stand de crêpe (miam) and a stand to play games of all kinds. The atmosphere was convivial and festive! 

Thanks to all the volunteers and partners who helped students get away from it all. 

Next time we'll go and have some fun with them, that's for sure!

FESTIVAL AT COP1 ANGERS!

On February 21 took place the opening of "a new branch, the 30th for Cop1! 

Welcome to the new volunteers in Saint-Denis de la Réunion! We were able to distribute over 200 food baskets. We thought we'd have less success, we won't hide it from you. 

This branch opening was made possible in particular thanks to the Centre régional Infos Jeunes in La Réunion, which was able to welcome us for our first food distribution under the sun.

Opening of our 30th branch on Reunion Island

On February 2, the president of Cop1 spoke out on the measure introducing one-euro Crous meals. 

While this step forward was hailed as a necessary response to the student social emergency, she also pointed out that it is not a lasting solution to the structural precariousness faced by many young people.

Léonore stressed in particular that the abolition of Aides Personnelles au Logement (APL) for foreign students cannot be an acceptable response, and on the contrary exacerbates inequalities.

For Cop1, the fight for dignified living conditions and the fight against student precariousness continues.

In December, Cop1 mobilized all over France to ensure that no one felt alone during the festive season.
On the program: gift distributions, Christmas banquets... We pulled out all the stops to end the year under the banner of generosity.
And it was a success! In Paris alone, we were able to distribute 400 Christmas hampers.
In other news, we also unveiled our first Cop1 commercial, produced with the help of production company ICI BARBES.

Christmas food distributions broke all records!

Our 27 branches have resumed their activities and continue to work closely with students. Focus on two of them, where solidarity and social ties are combined on a daily basis: Lyon and Paris.

During the first distribution in Lyon, which took place on September 24, 259 meal baskets were served. This high number of students helped is unusual for a takeover and caused a long queue outside the distribution venue. This pushes us to redouble our efforts to prevent this situation from recurring. It's at times like these that we realize even more that our action matters!

Special distribution in Paris on October 11. The distribution, in conjunction with Paris Musée, welcomed 195 beneficiaries who were able to take part in a visit to the Musée Bourdelle in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. The aim: to mix solidarity and culture. On the program: to present the life and work of Antoine Bourdelle, "one of the greatest sculptors of the late 19th century", who left Montauban to study at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.  It also provides a break from student loneliness. Rather than just collecting their baskets and heading home, some were able to stroll around the museum and chat. We hope, in the near future, to again be able to combine visiting and collecting, as this also allows us to combat social isolation.

Back to business: Focus on Lyon and Paris!

Cop1 isn't just fighting against student precariousness... we're also campaigning for the right to rest, escape, and shared memories.
 
This spring break, thanks to our partnership with the fondation Je Pars, Tu Pars, Il Part, 8 young people beneficiaries and Cop1 volunteers were able to go on a week's vacation to Bergerac and Cap d'Agde, departing from the branches in Nancy and Orléans 
 
On the program: kayaking, accrobranche, boat ride, Ferris wheel, laughter, sunshine and well-deserved disconnection. Everything was taken care of: transportation, accommodation, and a small budget for on-site activities. A real break from the often hectic daily lives of these young people.
 
Given the success of this first edition, other branches will have the chance to benefit from the program from July 2025. The next departures are already in preparation, and we can't wait to tell you what happens next!

A well-deserved vacation!

Cop1 organized its first food distribution in Toulouse at the café associatif l'Escabel, just a few steps from the Capitole.

After a time of exchange and meetings with local solidarity players, Cop1 was able to lay the foundations for its new location, in France's fourth-largest student city, home to over 120,000 students. The first contact with the student public was striking: over 1,000 students signed up for the first distribution initially planning to welcome 200 people. 

Great troubles call for great remedies: in response to this influx of requests for help, Cop1 doubled the capacity of this first distribution, and 75 students volunteered to help out right from the start - a record!

The challenge is great, but the commitment of this young team is such that we can count on them to reinforce the fight against student precariousness in Toulouse!!

Cop1's 25th antenna: Toulouse!

To reinforce its action with students during the holiday season, Cop1 volunteers hold stands at the various Christmas markets organized in the association's cities of intervention; in order to raise awareness and solicit support from the general public.

Through this action, gifts are distributed throughout December to students in need, in the spirit of an advent calendar!

Cop1 celebrates Christmas by and for students!

Dear difteurs, 

First solidarity restaurant for students, la Cop1ne is a friendly place where all students can come and share a full menu for 3€ (based on Resto U prices). 

The kitchen is run by a chef supported by a team of volunteers from the association, to offer fast food at lunchtime and dinner on the premises in the evening. Its access is open to the general public, who can also come and enjoy a meal at a solidarity rate to support the project,at less than 15€!!

This new restaurant is located in the 14th arrondissement of Paris and is also tasked with hosting the association's actions: creative and cooking workshops, debates, film evenings etc.&nbsp;

So don't hesitate and come and taste our dishes!

Opening of Cop1's first solidarity canteen: the Cop1ne!

To complement the help provided by food distributions, Cop1 is rolling out Fest1s in all the towns in which the association is present.&nbsp;

The aim of these cooking workshops is to bring together students receiving food aid around a full dinner with the aim of (re)acquiring a taste for cooking, learning thrifty techniques and healthy recipes, all while sharing a convivial moment.

Using the products on offer at the same week's distributions, the students are tasked with working together to prepare a starter, main course and dessert, and then to cook and, of course, eat it. In this way, students who have benefited from the food distributions obtain and share their culinary knowledge or recipe ideas, and improve their diet together.&nbsp;

At present, Cop1 plans to bring in student cooks to supervise these workshops, while training for their future profession!

After opening 4 branches in Orléans, Caen, Brest and Saclay over the last 2 months, the need to strengthen support and partners in order to respond to as many students as possible every day remains Cop1's priority.Through its missions, Lou is helping to ensure the quality of existing support, as well as the continued deployment of Cop1's intervention throughout France.&nbsp;

A new Cop1 employee thanks to the Captains!

2023 will have marked a turning point in Cop1's development:

With 10 new locations in 2023, the association has been able to reach 4 times more students than in 2022 while improving the quality of its help through new partnerships, more and more volunteers and growing visibility. 
 
Today, Cop1 works through 14 branches and has been able to help 45,000 students by distributing 100,000 food parcels, organizing more than 1.000 workshops and support outings, and all thanks to the efforts of 2,500 volunteers.&nbsp;

But the fight is still far from over!!

In 2024, Cop1's development continues to meet the growing demand for help from students: Besançon, Brest, Orléans, Pointe-à-Pitre and Toulouse are on the list of the next branches to be created!
