Dear donors,
We would like to express our deep gratitude for your generous support of the Indigenous Guardians of the Xingu region. It's thanks to you that breakthroughs like these are possible.
The COP 30 in Belém was a milestone for the Rainforest Organization, rich in encounters and concrete results.
Strategic meetings
On November 14, aboard Greenpeace's Rainbow Warrior, we brought together German and Austrian political representatives. There, the German deputy ambassador met Watatakalu Yawalapiti and accepted his invitation to visit the Xingu Indigenous Territory.
Financial commitments
Thanks to a relationship of trust built during a visit we organized to Leonardo DiCaprio in 2019, the "Instituto Raoni" fund was launched in Belém, raising $15 million via Re-Wild. Several other major funds dedicated to the protection of tropical forests were also announced during the COP.
UNESCO
We facilitated a first working meeting between a specialist recruited by UNESCO and Tapi Yawalapiti, taking forward concretely the project for recognition of the TIX as World Heritage. The Annual Assembly of the Instituto Aritana, in May at Posto Leonardo, will bring together representatives of the sixteen nations of the Xingu for the first official consultation along these lines.
With your support, we can continue to defend the rights of the Xingu peoples on the international stage.
A big thank you to you!
Thank you donors
Dear donors,
We would like to express our deep gratitude for your generous support to the Indigenous Guardians of the Xingu Region.
Thanks to your invaluable help, you are actively contributing to the
protection and preservation of this 142,000 km² territory, home to over 17 ethnic groups and exceptional biodiversity.Your donation enables the local communities to monitor, and secure these vital lands, ensuring the sustainability of their natural habitat and way of life.
We would also like to draw your attention to the July 2025 release of the YouTube video "We found a way to save the Amazon Rainforest". This film, the result of several months' collaboration with Planet Wild and Ecosia, highlights the struggle of the indigenous peoples of the Xingu to defend their territory. It illustrates the crucial importance of providing them with concrete support in order to preserve the Amazon rainforest.
In August, on the occasion of the Kuarup festivities (a major cultural ceremony bringing together several indigenous peoples, dedicated to honoring ancestors) we organized workshops to raise awareness of the various challenges facing indigenous communities.
Finally, in the run-up to the next COP in Belém, we are preparing to raise the visibility of the indigenous peoples of Xingu, increase public awareness and achieve concrete advances in defense of their rights and situation.
A big thank you to you!

In October 2024, Chief Tapi Yawalapiti was interviewed by UNESCO, where he shared his profound reflections on the bond between his people, the Yawalapiti, and nature.
In November, our team traveled to the Xingu to assess the concrete effects of the territorial monitoring and protection program in the TIX. On site, we exchanged directly with local communities, gathering heartfelt feedback on the successes, but also on the obstacles still to be overcome to effectively protect this vital region.
Thanks to your support, we can also strengthen the action of indigenous firefighting brigades, who face increasingly frequent and violent forest fires across Brazil.
A big thank you to you!
