PlanVue: helping pupils in disadvantaged areas to improve their eyesight

While 80% of learning involves sight, many students in France do not have access to glasses, as there are many barriers to accessing care. And yet, wearing glasses can reduce the risk of academic failure by 44%.

Also, by 2050, half the world's population will be myopic due to the use of screens and the lack of natural light.

The main aim of PlanVue is to prevent and treat avoidable visual disorders in schoolchildren in priority education networks, with no out-of-pocket expenses. Accompanying families through the treatment process helps to ensure the long-term viability of the initiative by empowering them to monitor the visual health of not only their child, but also the whole sibling.

This program thus actively contributes to improvingaccess to careand equal opportunities.

For the 2024-2025 school year, PlanVue is deployed in 55 schools in Saint-Ouen, Saint-Denis, Paris 18e and 20e, Colombes, Nanterre and Marseille.
