Transforming offices into shelters for the homeless

With support from the MADERA association as part of her reintegration process, Anfane was welcomed into the offices of Karbon Ethic, a local company that agreed without hesitation. Régis Janvier and Laëtitia Jollivel opened their doors and, with them, a space to sleep, relax, and keep moving forward. On the Bureaux du Cœur side, two volunteers, Camille Ferrant and Pauline Désormais, supported and facilitated this welcome with all the care it deserved. This first welcome would not have been possible without the support of Anne-Sophie Le Joly, director of the Kernae Endowment Fund, who has supported Bureaux du Cœur since the beginning of their presence in Brittany. Now, the goal is to take it further: Les Bureaux du Cœur is seeking local businesses willing to become host companies. No major resources are needed—just a space where someone can set up their belongings, and the desire to be part of a meaningful movement.

This figure says it all! 1,000 people sheltered in the evenings and at weekends, away from the streets. 1,000 singular stories, 1,000 new life trajectories that open up. 1,000 times when an office, empty after 6pm, proved that it could be used for much more than hosting turned-off screens. This is no trivial figure. It's concrete proof that a movement is growing. This milestone is above all a collective adventure . Behind this thousand welcomes, there are faces, commitments, doors open both literally and figuratively: Hundreds of companies who have chosen to transform their premises into places of solidarity, for a night or a weekend. Committed volunteers, never short of energy or generosity, who ensure that every welcome takes place in the best possible conditions. Partner organizations who guide and accompany each person welcomed, so that this moment is much more than just a roof: a real point of support. It takes more than impressions to understand what hosting a company produces. Les Bureaux du Coeur have conducted their first impact measurement in order to assess, in a structured way, the effects of the scheme on the people hosted and on the employees of the host companies. Conducted with the support of Koreis, a consulting and research firm specializing in social impact assessment, this study analyzes, in particular, sheltering, the ability to project into the future, changes in housing and employment situations, as well as the effects observed in companies. The Bureaux du Coeur de Poitiers delegation experienced a founding stage: its very first welcome. A powerful moment, driven by the commitment of a local company, Act'in Campus, and by the invaluable support of the INSERSUD association. A first welcome that marks the start of a solidarity dynamic Act'in Campus was the first company in Poitiers to open its doors to offer shelter to a person in precarious circumstances. This concrete gesture perfectly illustrates the ambition of Bureaux du Coeur: mobilizing companies to provide shelter for those who have no other solution. Thanks to the field work of INSERSUD, a local integration professional, the connection was made quickly. The collaboration between the two structures enabled a fluid, secure and respectful welcome, in the spirit of our scheme. A breakfast to celebrate this commitment To mark this first collective step, the Poitiers delegation brought together partners, volunteers and supporters for a breakfast at the Vienne CCI, on November 20. This convivial occasion provided an opportunity: - to salute Act'in Campus' commitment as the territory's first host, - to thank INSERSUD for its essential support, - to introduce the scheme to new interested companies and structures.The testimonials of the host and Mickaël, the first guest welcomed, made the impact of the scheme tangible. A mobilized territory... and a dynamic to be continued This first reception is much more than a symbol: it's the starting point of the Poitou mobilization. The delegation now wants to federate other companies to multiply the number of accommodation places and offer respite to more people in precarious situations.

✨ There are smiles that speak volumes. Faisal has just left the SYD company offices, where he had been welcomed for several weeks, to join an intergenerational residence. A new step. A new beginning. 📍Like hundreds of other guests welcomed throughout France, Faisal was able, for a few weeks, to rest, regain his footing, breathe a little. Because one day, a company said: yes. 💡 This is the whole spirit of the Bureaux du Coeur: 📂 An unoccupied space becomes temporary accommodation. 👥 Volunteers accompany, guide, encourage. 💬 And little by little, precariousness recedes - through concrete gestures, through human connection. 📸 Thanks to SYD for its commitment, and to the volunteers of the Nantes delegation for their presence at every step. 💙 Bonne route Faisal, and thanks for that smile we're not about to forget.

Dear Difteur-ses, In January 2023, Fatoumata left Guinea for France. 4500 kilometers traveled. A lot of courage carried in her suitcases. In Nantes, she's hanging on. Accompanied by the Atdec Nantes Métropole - Mission Locale, Maison de l'emploi, PLIE, she goes from step to step, internships, workshops. She works on her CV, learns the codes, builds her future, despite the absence of a stable place to settle. In October 2024, everything changes. The Cabinet Devorsine opens its office to her. A space to settle down, breathe, regain her momentum. Gradually, things fall into place. France recognizes her right to be protected for ten years. She eventually finds shared accommodation. And soon, she begins training with the E2C Ecole de la deuxième chance. Today, Fatoumata moves forward. Proud, free, buoyed by all she has built. An open office. And, with it, a whole future lit up. You read that right, Bureaux du Coeur is exporting internationally and landing in #Lisbon. We're delighted to officially announce the opening of our brand-new Lisbon delegation! 🇵🇹 The year 2024 couldn't have got off to a better start. After welcoming over 300 guests to France last year, we're delighted to tell you that not one, but two guests will now be able to sleep in the warmth of the Cofidis Portugal offices. Accompanied by the Crescer association, they will be able to follow their path to integration and regain their strength with a free mind. Solidarity knows no borders! 💫

On June 8 and 9, 2023, our annual Campus was held. A time of meetings and exchanges eagerly awaited by our members, which enabled us to organize our General Meeting, strengthen our shared vision and pursue our mission for people in precarious situations more motivated than ever. For this second edition, we met at the Centre des Jeunes Dirigeants in Paris! More than 50 volunteers and hosts came from all over France to celebrate our collective successes and discuss our future challenges.

Since the start of 2023, not 1, not 2, not 3... but 42 new guests (!) have been welcomed at our 90 host companies in France! How far we've come in just a few short months! It's partly thanks to you, thanks to your donations, that we're managing to convince more and more companies to join us. So, THANK YOU!
