Converting empty offices into emergency housing

Dear Difteur-ses,

In January 2023, Fatoumata left Guinea for France.

4500 kilometers traveled. A lot of courage carried in her suitcases.

In Nantes, she's hanging on.

Accompanied by the Atdec Nantes Métropole - Mission Locale, Maison de l'emploi, PLIE, she goes from step to step, internships, workshops.

She works on her CV, learns the codes, builds her future, despite the absence of a stable place to settle.

In October 2024, everything changes.

The Cabinet Devorsine opens its office to her.

A space to settle down, breathe, regain her momentum.

Gradually, things fall into place.

France recognizes her right to be protected for ten years.

She eventually finds shared accommodation.

And soon, she begins training with the E2C Ecole de la deuxième chance.

Today, Fatoumata moves forward.

Proud, free, buoyed by all she has built.

An open office. And, with it, a whole future lit up.

That's what Les Bureaux du Coeur is all about: opening a door, offering a new breath.

The perfect opportunity to spotlight those who bring our initiative to life:

💡 Our host companies, like 1PACT, which opened its offices to Cristian, Haykel and Ibrahim.

💡 Our associative partners, like the ANRS, who accompany our guests towards reintegration.

💡 Our engaged volunteers and employees, who make this scheme possible every day.

In this report, we wanted to show a simple, concrete and effective solidarity: companies that open their unoccupied offices in the evenings and at weekends to offer emergency accommodation to people in precarious situations. A gesture that changes lives.

This collaboration marks an important step forward in our mission to provide temporary accommodation for people in precarity. Thanks to the sponsorship support of Mutuelles AXA and the commitment of AXA's Human Resources Department in France, we will be able to extend our impact and help even more people in need.
This partnership goes beyond simple financial support. AXA is concretely opening the doors of its offices in the evenings and at weekends, offering a safe and comfortable space to a guest in need. This initiative is testament to AXA's commitment to making a real difference to people's lives.

A wonderful mark of recognition for our action, which mobilizes companies and their offices left vacant in the evenings and at weekends to promote the integration of people in precarious situations. 💡
By becoming Laureate 2024, we will benefit from:
🏆 The recognized La France s'engage label, which will enable us to gain greater visibility,
💰 A financial endowment, necessary to develop our project and begin our territorial spin-off,
🤝 Personalized and collective support until 2027 to change scale, reach new beneficiaries and multiply our action in more territories.
Our goal by 2027 is to reach 1,000 host organizations, thanks to which we will have been able to welcome and insert 7,000 people in precarious situations.

We're delighted to announce that in February, not one, not two, but three Bureaux du Coeur delegations have launched. Welcome to Dijon, Valenciennes and Brussels 💙
The Bureaux du Coeur are now 28 active delegations in France, Belgium, Portugal as well as Spain.
It is with great pride that we extend our reach to better help the most precarious.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to our volunteers, organizations hosts and associations partners, whose unwavering support makes it all possible.

You read that right, Bureaux du Coeur is exporting internationally and landing in #Lisbon. We're delighted to officially announce the opening of our brand-new Lisbon delegation! 🇵🇹 

 

The year 2024 couldn't have got off to a better start. After welcoming over 300 guests to France last year, we're delighted to tell you that not one, but two guests will now be able to sleep in the warmth of the Cofidis Portugal offices.

 

Accompanied by the Crescer association, they will be able to follow their path to integration and regain their strength with a free mind.

The West Ceremony of the Prix de l'Entrepreneur de l'Année 2023, organized by EY, took place on September 20 in Nantes.

And guess what? We won the Prix de l'Engagement sociétal!"

What a joy and honor for us, this distinction strengthens our resolve a little more.

Three years ago, we launched our initiative to combat precariousness. And thanks to your unwavering support, Bureaux du Coeur now boasts:

On June 8 and 9, 2023, our annual Campus was held.
A time of meetings and exchanges eagerly awaited by our members, which enabled us to organize our General Meeting, strengthen our shared vision and pursue our mission for people in precarious situations more motivated than ever. For this second edition, we met at the Centre des Jeunes Dirigeants in Paris!
More than 50 volunteers and hosts came from all over France to celebrate our collective successes and discuss our future challenges. 

Since the start of 2023, not 1, not 2, not 3... but 42 new guests (!) have been welcomed at our 90 host companies in France!
How far we've come in just a few short months!
