Providing drinking water to vulnerable populations

That's why 1001fontaines is launching its campaign"Safe drinking water is everyone's business".

Thanks to the support of our patrons, three new Thematic Funds are being created. As genuine strategic levers to accelerate the deployment of our bottled drinking water model, they will mobilize new partners and donors, and thus amplify our impact.

This Fund will enable us to launch pilot projects (e.g. in Nepal), explore new geographies, support social and technological innovation, and strengthen academic partnerships.

This Fund will aim to accompany local players in the implementation of drinking water solutions in carboys, structure a support system for these organizations and promote skills transfer.

This Fund will enable the implementation of social programs geared towards the most vulnerable populations, such as the Water in School, which already brings drinking water to nearly 380,000 children in Cambodian and Madagascan elementary school on a daily basis. Its ambition will be to roll out these social programs to new communities, and in new territories.

These three Funds share a common goal: to reach more beneficiaries, guarantee the sustainability of the actions of 1001fontaines and its local partners, and amplify the influence of our approach in the water sector.

Your support in 2024 helped transform lives: over 1.3 million people gained access to safe drinking water in our four countries of intervention. You have all contributed to this impact, and we thank you warmly!

Together, here's what we've achieved:

✅ Celebrating 20 years of 1001fontaines' innovation and impact;

✅ 1.3 million beneficiaries served, including 376,000 children in Cambodia and 6,000 in Madagascar in their schools ;

✅ 341 active Water Kiosks in Cambodia;

✅ The launch of a remineralized water range in Vietnam;

✅The extension of our programs, with a project in Bangladesh that will benefit 17,000 people.

Dear Patrons,

In September 2024, our organization celebrated its 20 years of existence. Two decades of impact and innovation dedicated to providing safe, high-quality, affordable drinking water to vulnerable populations in Asia and Africa.

To mark this milestone, we organized a hybrid event, with the participation of our local teams, held on Wednesday, September 25, from 9am to 12pm in Paris. It was an opportunity to discover our projects, as well as our local teams spread across our 4 intervention countries: Cambodia, Vietnam, Madagascar and Bangladesh.

Frédéric Mazzella, President and Co-founder of Captain Cause, was invited to present your impact through difts distributed at 1001fontaines. His talk hopefully inspired other partners to multiply their impact through Captain Cause

2 months have passed since our last news and we're delighted to share some 1001fontaines news and achievements with you! We have some very big news that wouldn't have been possible without you!"

We're proud to announce that on March 20, 2024, two days before World Water Day, we launched a clean water access project in Bangladesh, in partnership with local organization Uttaran!"

We aim to become the drinking water solution of choice for vulnerable populations in 5 countries by 2030. Each of your difts brings us a little closer to our goal!

After reaching one million beneficiaries in all our countries of intervention in March, we closed 2023 in style by reaching one million beneficiaries in Cambodia, our first country of intervention.

💧A total of 231 million liters of drinking water were thus produced and distributed in 2023 in Cambodia, Vietnam and Madagascar by 1001fontaines.

All our teams would like to express their gratitude for your invaluable support. Each of your difts has enabled us to provide lifelong access to drinking water for vulnerable populations.

3 months have passed and we're delighted to share with you the new advances and achievements of 1001fontaines.

Many advances and achievements have occurred, which we proudly share. Among the most significant news, we are particularly proud to share with you some great news! 

 

> After reaching 1 million beneficiaries in March in all our countries, we are now on track to bring clean drinking water to 1 million people in our first country of intervention: Cambodia! This achievement marks a significant milestone since inception thanks to this tremendous impact.

<> Last September, we published our first-half 2023 report, highlighting the impact of our initiatives in the first six months of 2023 in our four focus countries. You can discover it here.

> Think-thank IRC WASH conducted a study on the Cambodian water access model developed by 1001fontaines and Teuk Saat 1001. This analysis, published last August, praised the approach of our community-based water-bottle service model, which delivers safe drinking water on a large scale and in a sustainable way to rural populations. The entire 1001fontaines team sends you 1001 thanks for your support! Thanks to you, we're making progress every day towards a world where everyone will have sustainable access to affordable, quality water. 

A lot has happened since our last exchange in April, and we're proud to share it: 

💧 Veasna, our project manager in Cambodia, presented the kiosk 2.0 that's under construction. More ergonomic and connected, the kiosk of the future will enable more in-depth monitoring of water quality and production. Visit it on video !

💧 In Madagascar, we conducted a survey of 260 people. The results highlighted the importance of our drinking water service. Learn more here.

💧 In May, we published our Annual Report 2022, tracing the impact of our action in our four countries of operation. You can read it here.

Hello to all our Captain Cause patrons! Many thanks for your support, which is helping to accelerate access to drinking water for vulnerable populations and generate a virtuous circle to help lift them out of poverty. 

Among our recent news, we have some great news to share with you: last March, we surpassed one million beneficiaries with perennial access to drinking water! This water is essential for the most vulnerable populations: it reduces the risk of disease and keeps people healthy, freeing up time to go to school and work, all for better economic development.

By 2025, our goal is to double the number of beneficiaries, reaching 2 million people. With every new water kiosk we open, 4,000 people gain sustainable access to drinking water, including 1,000 schoolchildren with our "Water In School" program.
