Dear donors,
Thanks to your difts, in 2023, Libraries Without Borders' actions benefited 497,000 people in 22 countries.
From libraries deployed in Turkey and Morocco following earthquakes, to those accompanying women survivors of sexual violence in conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo, to the creation of an educational kit to combat illiteracy through radio in French Guiana, our teams have never ceased to innovate and reinvent themselves this year in order to respond as effectively as possible to the needs of the most vulnerable populations.

"MY BAG OF BOOKS": SHARING THE JOY OF READING AND WELCOMING VISITORS
Throughout the month of June, BSF once again offered backpacks filled with books to 3,000 allophone students newly arrived in France and attending school in the academies of Amiens, Aix-Marseille, Créteil, Paris, and also in Strasbourg, designated World Book Capital in 2024 by UNESCO.
In each of these bags: books chosen especially for them by peers their own age. This program, supported by BSF for the sixth consecutive year, is a large-scale educational project aimed at students enrolled in UPE2A - Unité pédagogique pour élèves allophones arrivants. This National Education scheme enables children newly arrived in France to be enrolled in an "ordinary" class, while benefiting from adapted support to learn French. Fully included in the school system, these students can meet new people and regain their self-confidence.
Throughout the month of June, 3,000 pupils from CP to 3ème received a bag of five books chosen especially for them - according to their age, level of French, interests - thanks to educational work carried out with their teachers and classmates, based on a bibliography and activity sheets drawn up by BSF.

The money will be used for
Thanks to your donation, you enable BSF to:
- select and create content in a wide range of themes (education, citizenship, entrepreneurship, health, culture and reading, climate change...) and in more than 38 languages, so that they are as adapted as possible to our beneficiaries;
- create and produce Ideas Boxes in France and send them to nearly 30 countries around the world;
- train facilitators directly in the field, as close as possible to the beneficiaries, so that they can accompany the activities carried out in the Ideas Boxes;
- maintain the Ideas Boxes over the long term so that they continue to welcome, every day and in every context, children, girls, women, displaced people so that they can continue to learn, have fun, create links and build their future.

Why we love it?
A magnificent association that spreads culture by all means and in all territories.
With our libraries, we may not be able to stop war, but we can certainly help build peace.
