Opening of a new secondary school in the village of Ankilitelo, southern Madagascar

Dear donors,
Last September, with the support of the Grazie Endowment Fund and the backing of numerous donors, some of whom include you, a new college opened its doors in the village of Ankilitelo, in the south of Madagascar.
Third college of the Abc domino association, it gives pupils from the southernmost elementary school in the country access to secondary education.
172 6th graders started their new school year in September!
A big thank you to you for your invaluable support and donations.

The Secoles Abc Domino, supported by the Grazie Endowment Fund, organized the very first reading competition for CM1 and CM2 students! 📖🏅
32 finalists from the 6 elementary school gathered at the Beheloka and Efoetse libraries for a memorable event.
Such was the enthusiasm of pupils and teachers that the competition will be repeated every year.

L'HEURE DU BILAN by Chloé Freoa update

L'HEURE DU BILAN by Chloé Freoa

Each year, we have the pleasure and responsibility of presenting you with an assessment of our actions. It's an opportunity to take stock, relive the highlights of the past year and look to the future.

What we remember is that no year goes by without learning. We learn from our partners, from the projects we support and from the people we meet.
Since 2009, the Merci collective adventure - which became Grazie - has exceeded our expectations.
Thanks to our support, thousands of children today go to school in Madagascar, with our long-standing partner Abc domino.
In Essonne, a farm feeds hundreds of families while guaranteeing fair remuneration for its farmers.
All over France, ecological projects are springing up, bringing a breath of fresh air and a sustainable future to our countryside.
Since 2019, our Horizon project has been sowing the seeds of a profound transformation of our territories, driven by the talent and resilience of refugee people. This project embodies our conviction that every initiative, no matter how humble, can become a driving force for lasting change.

This review is much more than a simple retrospective. It is proof that our combined efforts really can transform lives, offer a better future and build a fairer world.
As we enter this new school year with a new name, a team as determined as ever. Your support is more precious than ever.
Every donation, every gesture counts.
Thank you for being part of this human and united adventure.

✨ The Merci Endowment Fund becomes the Grazie Endowment Fund. ✨ A word from Julien Cohen update

✨ The Merci Endowment Fund becomes the Grazie Endowment Fund. ✨ A word from Julien Cohen

In 2009, my parents, Marie-France and Bernard, invented a new way of doing philanthropy by creating the "Merci" concept store, a not-for-profit store whose entire profits were donated to an eponymous endowment fund.
In 2013, we sold the "Merci" store but, we continued the philanthropic adventure with our endowment fund.
15 years after its creation, the Merci Endowment Fund has grown, its projects have multiplied and its team has been strengthened.
Since 2011, the historic commitment to Madagascar continues, giving 3,700 children access to education every year.
Since 2017, the Merci Endowment Fund is also acting in France for the agricultural and food transition.
Since 2021, we've been working to revitalize rural areas by enabling refugees to settle around their know-how.
2024: The time has come to write a new chapter, a chapter called Grazie.

Why Grazie?
Because Grazie embodies continuity while symbolizing openness to change and cultural diversity.
Because the endowment fund reinvents itself without denying its DNA: a family, friends, values, convictions, projects and a mad desire to transform utopias into realities.
Because this word is beautiful in every language.

Julien Cohen
President of the Grazie Endowment Fund

Julien Cohen and Chloé Freoa have just spent 2 weeks in southwest Madagascar, on their annual mission to the schools of the Abc domino association, a long-standing partner of the Merci Endowment Fund.
They took the opportunity to fill up on children's smiles, new projects to improve the lives of villagers in the bush, but also photos to share with you!

On the way to a third college... in Madagascar 🇲🇬🏫 update

On the way to a third college... in Madagascar 🇲🇬🏫

💪 We're proud to note that enrolment in Abc domino schools is rising steadily, mainly in middle school, even though it's usually at this point in schooling that girls stop studying. This is the result of many years of commitment to education in this forgotten area. We can only congratulate ourselves! But it is also a growing responsibility for the Merci and Abc domino Endowment Fund not to abandon these children, to continue to accompany them to the highest level of study.

In the second half of 2024, we are committed to the construction of a new middle school for the children of Ankilibory and Belitsaka, in the south of Madagascar's west coast 🏫.

The future middle school will accommodate 200 students 🎯.
