🌺 A new class is starting at Du Pain & Des Roses: the 4th class of our Mimosa remobilization program
There are 16 women from different backgrounds joining the 3-month course.
They have chosen to call themselves the Oiseau de paradis class, in homage to this flamboyant flower 🌺
On the program: floral art, discovery of France work, women's rights, sport, digital, health, mobility...

Since the start of the new school year, Du Pain & Des Roses has come alive with laughter, bouquets and discoveries. Our learners follow their floral adventure, between learning, deepening techniques and collective creations.

As the weeks go by, these women with varied backgrounds explore the many dimensions of the florist's craft: art, gesture, emotion... but also self-confidence and well-being.

Here in a few words is a look back at our October highlights:

On October 8, learners from the Camomille promo created a cloud out of dried flowers , hanging in the association's break room. This workshop enabled everyone to work on cooperation and communication with each other.

On the occasion of Pink October 💗, a month to raise awareness of breast cancer screening, participants in the Mimosa program wanted to express their support for women affected by the disease through a pink floral creation.

After each learning module, Promo Camomille learners complete a week's internship in a florist boutique to immerse themselves in the reality of the trade and put their acquired skills into practice.

One of the workshops of the Mimosa program lies in the French courses offered as an option to non-French-speaking participants.

Since September, the 18th class in training, opens a new page for Du Pain & Des Roses 🌸

A class of women from a variety of backgrounds embody the diversity, creativity and know-how that drive our association.

For four months, they train in floral art techniques while developing the human and professional skills essential to their sustainable integration.

Together, they bloom their future 💐

The Mimosa program is also making its comeback with the welcome of its 3rd session of the year. With this new promotion, christened les Coquelicots Du Pain & Des Roses continues its mission: to offer more of the women the opportunity to gain autonomy and find their professional path after the program.

So far, they have already participated in several activities.

- An educational visit to Veni Verdi.

La promo Lavande continues to outdo itself 🌿

Lastly, the learners took part in our podcast "Le Pot aux Roses": a project dreamed up as part of our Sustainable flower module, to reflect and exchange around issues linked to cut flowers: production, transport, local alternatives...

They then recorded their episodes at the Rothschild recording studio, which warmly welcomed us and provided professional equipment 🎙️

A great experience for learning to express themselves differently, gaining confidence and making their voices heard.

The Mimosa program has completed its first promotion!

For 12 weeks, these women followed a unique path combiningfloral art, professional remobilization and tailor-made support. 🌼

From the discovery of floristry to immersion in the boutique, they advanced step by step on the path to regaining their self... and their future.

Through group workshops, one-to-one meetings, work placements and sharing time, they have regained confidence, gained autonomy, and sprouted new ambitions.

Some have done their internships with Monceau Fleurs, Refugee Food, Emmaüs Connect or even medical or solidarity structures. Speaking French, projecting themselves towards training or employment, discovering a new profession: the steps taken are numerous and inspiring.

And now, welcome to the promo Orchid, who joined the program two weeks ago. A new cycle begins, with its share of promises and beautiful stories to write...

Last week, our florist trainees took on a new creative challenge: imagining and composing window arrangements for imaginary boutiques. 🏬💐

Thought up as veritable plant stagings, these creations combine color harmony, dynamic volumes and visual balance. Each composition tells a story, draws the eye and sublimates the space, proving that floristry is not limited to bouquets, but also extends to the world of design and scenography. This time, the trainees were inspired by Grandmother's Day, an important event in the professional flower sector! These creations also feature 100% French and seasonal flowers, as always at Du Pain & des Roses ✨

👏 Well done to our girls for their imagination and talent!

We know that, every year, millions of bouquets of red roses flood the market for lovers' day. But did you know that 85% of the flowers sold in France are imported? Grown in often unhealthy conditions, in overheated and over-lit greenhouses with pesticides banned in Europe, and transported thousands of kilometers, they have a dramatic ecological, health and social impact.

A survey by UFC-Que Choisir, published on February 14, revealed that each bouquet tested contained an average of 12 toxic substances, endangering florists and consumers alike. To read the report, click here:

And yet, we've known about it for a long time! It's been 8 years since the French Flower Collective came into existence, campaigning for more local and responsible production. Today, research is multiplying: studies like the one by UFC-Que Choisir that have been re-shared in the media, reports... Awareness is growing and we're on the right track! 🌱

What a flourishing year we've just had at Du Pain et des Roses! 🌹✨

As 2024 draws to a close, the time has come to take stock of this adventure, rich in learning, encounters and, of course, flowers, each more colorful than the last.

Our beneficiaries from the classes named Camélia, Rose, Phoenix and Cosmos shone throughout their training and all earned their Certificat de Qualification Professionnelle d'assistant-e fleuriste. Their determination and talent continue, every day, to inspire our team.

But our success this year is also yours. A huge thank you to our partners, who have supported us in our projects; to all the generous people who have made donations and enabled our training courses to flourish; to our readers.icess, who share our passion; and to all those who, from near and far, accompany us in this mission. You are the magic fertilizer in our gardens! 💐

In 2024, we welcomed 333 participants to our introductory floristry workshops. Together, we sowed seeds of solidarity and nurtured vocations. A fine harvest for a cause close to our hearts.

So, for 2025, our vases are ready to welcome new projects and new flowers. Stay with us as we continue to make inclusion and creativity bloom. Heartfelt thanks and see you next year for even more petals and projects! 🌼✨

It's the big day! Back to school is on the horizon for our learners from the 15  th promotion, the Cosmos, here at Du Pain & des Roses! 🌸✨

In our garden of talent, every year we cultivate women and people from gender minorities ready⸱es to blossom through our free, qualifying assistant⸱e florist training. For four months, our 8 learners will therefore study to obtain the Certificat de Qualification Professionnelle (CQP) d'Assistant⸱e Fleuriste, the diploma that will then open the doors to flourishing careers!

From the moment they enter training, we offer our learners⸱es follow-up inspired by alternative pedagogies: our aim is to encourage their autonomy by giving them the desire to be active⸱ves and responsible. Indeed, the professional integration of our trainees is one of our main objectives: 78% of training beneficiaries are in employment or following another certifying course 1 year after completing our CQP training. Of these, 53% are on permanent contracts and 93% are in the flower industry. 

Thanks to the support of the City of Paris via the Paris Fertile program and your invaluable help, we continue to cultivate the future and are committed to making projects that take root flourish.

So, for our Cosmos, it's time to bloom and fill up on knowledge! The flowers are ready to bud and we can't wait to see where this new adventure takes them. 🌷✨

On Monday April 8, we welcomed our second promotion of the "FLEurir l'avenir" pre-training: the Pommiers! It includes 10 new beneficiaries, and we're delighted to have them with us!

The concept of our pre-training program: it's free and is aimed at women and minorities who are far from employment, and who don't have the required level of French to join our CQP florist assistant training program.That's why the letters F, L and E are capitalized, in reference to Français Langue Etrangère (FLE)! The pre-training program offers various workshops to enable our beneficiaries to familiarize themselves with the French language while learning the basics of floristry. 

The aim is for beneficiaries of the "FLEurir l'avenir" pre-training program to be able to join our CQP florist assistant training program! 

 

This three-month program is in partnership with Langues Plurielles, who run our French courses: they are a language training organization open to the professional, social and cultural environment. They design training programs that are as close as possible to the objectives of each-e.

Our pre-training contains several specific features:using flowers as a medium for learning FLE, it takes place in small numbers, it uses an innovative pedagogy, it enables people to discover a job in short supply, it removes the obstacles to a return to employment, it reaches out to a public in a situation of social and/or professional exclusion, it advocates an ecological program using flowers from local flower farms.Thank you for your support!
