Reduce plastic pollution to protect our environment and our health
Publication of our guide: Zero plastic in sport!
To put an end to plastic in sport! đđ»ââïž
The Paris 2024 Games proved it to us: reducing plastic in sport is possible. But how can we replicate this success on the scale of a local trail or stadium? The brand-new guide "Zero single-use plastic in sport" is here to answer your questions. đȘđ»
Co-constructed with over 30 sports players (federations, event organizers, local authorities) it structures action around 6 concrete pillars: hydration, catering, signage & goodies, regulations, partners, and health. The guide also tackles the real obstacles in the field: safety, logistics, preconceived ideas... and gives the keys to overcoming them.
They've done it: the EcoTrail and UTMB have replaced tens of thousands of disposable bottles with fountains and water bottles. The French Athletics Federation avoided the production of 9,000 finishers' t-shirts on a single event.đ„ Download guide the guide for free via our website.
We have been awarded the "One Health" label by the French government
Hello everyone, Did you know? In April, France is hosting a major international summit dedicated to global health (as the links between our health, animal health and the environment have been proven). As part of this, we have been awarded the "One Health" label, in recognition of our actions to protect human health from the impacts of plastic and our initiatives to screen the documentary "Homo Plasticus"As part of this, we are co-organizing a series of events in April with scientists and associations.Find out more about our actions as part of the One Health event: https://noplasticinmysea.org/evenements/Find out more about the health risks associated with plastic: https://noplasticinmysea.org/plastique-et-sante/
Let's move forward together into 2026!
đ«Thank you dear Difteuse and Difteur
At the start of this new year, No Plastic In My Sea warmly thanks you for your support. Acting for less plastic pollution and more health will be our compass in 2026.
Thanks to you, we will demonstrate concretely that it is possible to reduce single-use plastics, sector by sector:
- January: Webinar with 30 Ile de France local authorities in January - March: A guide to zero single-use plastic sports in March - April: A recommendation on reducing plastic in supermarkets- And June, the No Plastic Challenge and a website dedicated to plastic-free hydration.Thank you for acting alongside us. Together, in 2026, let's make plastic history.
đŹ Movie-debate on the film Homo Plasticus
Dear difteers,
The documentary Homo Plasticus, currently available on Arte TV, plunges us into the heart of a burning issue: the omnipresence of plastic in our lives and bodies.
We recently co-organized a film-debate with several associations, in the presence of the director - a powerful moment, rich in exchange and awareness.
đ On the program: a gripping reminder of scientific knowledge on the effects of plastic on our health- đŹ Presence of microplastics in the human body- đ Disturbances to the digestive system- đ« Impacts on the respiratory tract... and many other worrying consequences.
Alarming findings, but a clear message: it's urgent to act and reduce our exposure!

The screening was followed by two round-table discussions with members of parliament who insisted on the need for a real policy to reduce plastic production at source, in view of the environmental and health stakes.

UN action to reduce the use of plastic bottles worldwide
130 NGOs join our call to deplastify water
Dear Difteurs,We hope you had a great summer. For our part, we were very active on the negotiations of the international treaty against plastic pollution in Geneva, because pollution has no borders!
130 organizations from 5 continents joined our call to reduce plastic bottles worldwide. Thanks to our actions on the ground (handing over the appeal, demonstration in front of the UN) this appeal is starting to be considered by some states.
And for the record, plastic bottles:- constitute the 2nd most common waste found in the environment.
- are a major cause of exposure to microplastics - actually hinder the human right to access clean drinking waterSee you soon, and thanks for your support
The No Plastic In My Sea team at UNOC
United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC): progress against plastic pollution!
Dear difteur-ses,On the issue of plastic pollution, the UNOC has fostered heightened awareness, more lucid discourse and international and national commitments that now set a clear course.A brief overview of these developments:â President Emmanuel Macron's remarks on France TV were clear: "We must drastically reduce plastic production" ... "recycling cannot be the alpha and omega".â Minister AgnĂšs Pannier-Runacher also had strong words on the subject: "What's at stake? Our ability to ban the most problematic plastics, control production, support the most vulnerable countries and protect the health of future generations"â the UNOC was the occasion for important declarations by States, including the Nice Wake up call for an ambitious plastics Treaty signed by 96 countries. A diplomatic achievement to be applauded! On the No plastic in my sea My Sea side, the UNOC was an opportunity to make our messages heard with:â a presentation on the treaty against plastic pollution at the invitation of Surfrider â a digital side event on plastic bottle pollution â great media coverage of the subject and our association (Le Parisien, France Info...)â high-level meetings with the Minister of Ecological Transition, the Princess of Sweden... â collaborations with numerous associations in the ocean coalitionA big THANK YOU for your support!

You give, you receive!
Dear Difteurs,On the occasion of the RockCorps initiative, which encourages everyone to donate their time to a cause in exchange for a concert ticket, we had the pleasure of taking part in a litter-picking action on the quays of the Seine.Equipped with bags and gloves, over 60 volunteers got involved to collect as much litter as possible, all to music. đ A brand audit session then identified the most frequent types of waste: plastic bottles, cigarette butts, caps... A sad observation that reminds us of the importance of reducing our waste at source.Despite the clouds, we all left with smiles on our faces after this beautiful, committed stroll.đ Thanks to all and to RockCorps!
Already 300 people have signed up for the No Plastic Challenge, part of the Year of the Sea!
Dear Difteur-ses,Did you know? 2025 is the year of the sea, and France will be hosting a major international conference in June in Nice, under the aegis of the UN; its little name is UNOC = United Nations Ocean Conference. We'll be there to urge the states present to take action against plastic pollution. And everyone can take part in this momentum by joining the No Plastic Challenge, a major operation to mobilize against useless and toxic plastics.Your support is essential to mobilize schools and companies and produce quality content for this operation. Thank you andjoin this month of "deplastification"!
No Plastic In My Sea stand at Change Now
Raising awareness of the "Change Now" summit of solutions for the planet
Dear Difteur-ses,No Plastic In My Sea led an awareness-raising action at the Change Now summit and met many participants sensitive to the subject of plastic pollution. Our new "Music versus plastic" animation was a great success. Seriousness, with the quiz part, and musical winks to measure the extent to which plastic has invaded our lives and artists' imaginations in just a few years. And you? Do you know what year the plastic continent was discovered? Do you know which global hit was talking about plastic at the same time? A big THANK YOU for your support!
Protecting the ocean and ...our children from plastic. Stop plastic in canteens
Dear Difteur-ses,You've probably seen it in the news. The government almost backed down on stopping plastic in school canteens! But we have largely mobilized with other partner associations because the stakes are high.Repeated exposure to plastic in school canteens presents a significant risk of endocrine disruption. Thanks to the mobilization of our association, other partners, as well as parents' federations, the government is going to pass a more protective law!!Your difts also serve this purpose: to protect future generations.Thank you!"
Muriel Papin on France Info for World Recycling Day.
World Recycling Day: the French want less plastic
Dear difteur-ses,đ For World Recycling Day, franceinfo took a look at the definitions that sometimes lose consumers: recycling, decycling, reusing, reusing, reducing...To answer listeners' questions about "isn't recycling an excuse to produce more, and isn't it better to reduce?", the station called on No Plastic In My Sea.đListen here
This was an opportunity to remind everyone that: - Yes, we must continue to sort, even if plastic recycling is encountering limits- The supply of products and packaging must change so as not to impose so much plastic on consumers- Reduction and reuse are to be prioritized more, and Germany is a source of inspiration on reuse. - Stopping plastic bottles is a simple and effective choice for reducing one's plastic footprint. - The French don't want any more plastic for their children and on fruit and vegetables; there's still a lot to be done to meet their expectations.
A big thank you to you for your support!

Media appearance on France Info
Dear difteurs,Witnessing the plastic pollution crisis in the media is crucial to moving the lines. We had the opportunity to speak on France Info's matinale on November 25, 2024 to address a crucial topic: the imperative need for a treaty against plastic pollution on a global scale and the outcome of negotiations in early December.During our intervention, we stressed the importance of this historic step to end the plastic crisis and reduce its production. To go and listen, the link is here!Despite the lack of agreement in early December, we highlight the positives: over 100 countries are pushing for an ambitious treaty!Negotiations will continue into 2025 on this basis.A big thank you to you, dear difteurs, for your invaluable support and donations âš

A successful collection!
Dear difteurs,Braving the rain, the Levi's team accompanied us on a litter pick along the quays of the Seine. Together, we were able to gather nearly 15 well-filled bags. Between cigarette butts, cans and plastic packaging, we fished out a beer keg, some Playmobils, and even a wedding sign!Beyond the direct impact on the environment, this collection made us realize the extent of pollution and the importance of reducing single-use plastics.Let's not forget that plastic is the number one piece of waste found on our beaches!Thank you to the Levi's team for their involvement!
Identifying the most common types of waste found on the banks of the Seine
Better than collection, collection with waste identification!
Dear Captains, as you know, our priority is to reduce unnecessary plastics. But nothing beats a litter pick to realize the absolute necessity of REDUCING unnecessary plastics. With the help of 50 volunteers, we picked up, sorted, examined the garbage found and even quantified the most frequent and most visible marks. No surprise, lots of bottles and cigarette butts at the rendezvous! And thanks to the @Rockcorps association for its support. We're stronger together.

April 22: Earth Day targets plastic pollution
Plastic or planet? Let's make the right choices on April 22 ...and afterEarth Day on April 22 puts the urgency of taking action against plastic pollution back on the agenda, with a clear reminder: "plastic versus planet", we have to choose. The international Planet Earth association is calling for a 60% reduction in plastic production by 2040, and is thus relaying our recommendations (and those of scientists) who are calling for a drastic reduction in plastic production, the only long-term way out of the plastic pollution crisis (cleaning and recycling are necessary but insufficient solutions, as we can all see today!).This one-day event will take place alongside the 4th session (of 5 planned) of negotiations for the international treaty against plastic pollution in Ottawa (April 21-30). Let's rise to the challenge, let's mobilize! You want to take action: <1/ Take your individual plastic footprint test, a useful prerequisite for any change: https://noplasticinmysea.org/questionnaire-test/2/ Join the No Plastic Challenge and discover our tools dedicated to companies. It's here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1TVtmJ5gpN9vw6tiscXjKhF4nKBdKY99MuyAWTVxwru0/editSo, plastic or planet?
#GourdesRebellion survey: 218 establishments visited in 10 days
To reduce the pollution caused by plastic bottles, it's essential that the use of water bottles be facilitated. The law requires stations, airports, shopping malls, cinemas... to deploy water points. We've carried out a survey... and .... we're a long way off. Full results to come in January. Happy holidays to all and sundry.
Our "Zero plastic bottles" project wins the Eau de Paris participative budget
Bye bye plastic bottles, so polluting (1st plastic waste in the environment!).In order to spread the word about "Zero Plastic Bottle Solutions" to professional players and individuals of all ages, we're going to develop a website and an app for hydration on the move. Join this project, which came first in the Eau de Paris participatory budget! Thanks to your support, we'll be able to make it even more impactful.Find out more :)Â
In France: recall the ambitious reduction and reuse targets to be met
Already 18,000 signatories for the #GourdeChercheFontaine petition
Did you know that plastic bottles are the number one waste product found on beaches? But it's easy to do without! All you have to do is fill up your water bottle. This is one of the priority ecogestures of the No Plastic Challenge. And the good news is that, since the beginning of 2022, establishments open to the public have been obliged to provide water fountains for as few as 300 people.BUT.... 18 months later, the fountains have not been installed (much). We have launched a petition to ensure that these fountains are finally opened. You want to support us. Nothing could be simpler: https://agir.greenvoice.fr/petitions/message-aux-erp-ou-sont-les-30-000-points-d-eau-prevus-par-la-loi.
Online tool to measure your plastic footprint
The No Plastic Challenge continues from September to November!
After a very intense first wave, the No Plastic Challenge continues to mobilize all players (schools, companies, towns...) on a real "plastic sobriety".We overproduce and overconsume plastic packaging, very often for single use. REDUCTION is essential if we are to curb the plastic pollution that is invading all ecosystems and having a growing impact on health. Did you know that? You ingest or inhale 5 grams of plastic a week, the equivalent of a bank card.Supporting our project means acting at the source of plastic pollution!
