Water for Ghana

The project
ChildhoodInternational aid
In Ghana, nearly 4 million people still do not have access to safe drinking water. In rural areas, this reality costs lives: 1 child in 20 dies before the age of 5, often from diseases directly linked to contaminated water. World Vision has been working in Ghana since 1985 to change this, by building sustainable water points, improving sanitation and training communities in good hygiene practices.

Solution
To meet this challenge, World Vision installs water points and conveyance networks that bring water as close as possible to homes, schools and health centers. These solar-powered infrastructures are complemented by hand-washing stations and community support for good hygiene practices, for a lasting impact on family health.
Use of the money
Your donations directly finance access to water for children and their families: purchase and installation of equipment, training of local actors in the maintenance of water points, and hygiene education for families. By involving communities from the outset, we ensure that each installation remains functional over the long term - and that your support continues to bear fruit long after the project is over.
