Supporting the citizenship of an indigenous Cameroonian people!

Green Sanctuaries protects the world's key biodiversity forests and supports the people who depend on them.

The association is helping 4 indigenous villages of the Baka people in Cameroon to gain access to citizenship. The absence of birth certificates and national identity cards makes them legally invisible and prevents them from defending their rights in the face of attacks. The project aims to give them legal recognition and citizenship, by accompanying them through each administrative stage, raising their awareness and strengthening their ability to assert their rights and access to community forests.

We have identified 184 beneficiaries who will be accompanied throughout the process.
