Challenge
Food insecurity among students is a problem we can no longer ignore. The health crisis and the loss of odd jobs, followed by inflation, have hit hard this population that would normally devote itself to its studies.
On the territory of the Lille European Metropolis alone, there are around 35.000 students who have to make a choice between paying their rent and eating properly.
On the other hand, around 30% of the local growers' harvest is thrown away as it is out of calibre for mass distribution.

Y'a du RAB' is a general interest association that:
→ Seeks funding from private and public structures;
→ Buys and revalorizes anti-gaspi fruit and vegetables from local growers;
→ Organizes the packing of these products into baskets by workers on integration schemes ;
→ Distributes these baskets to associations specializing in food aid for students;
→ Sets up awareness-raising workshops around the subjects of food and eating better for students.

This superb societal innovation, which combines the fight against student and food insecurity, the circular economy, social integration, healthy eating and local impact, is the fruit of the successful collaboration between Bastien, an entrepreneur who has been committed for over 12 years, and Martin, a former student who is very involved in the associative world!
