The project

HandicapInclusion
Our aim is to accompany and support parents and carers of disabled children and adults in order to put an end to their obstacle course and defend their rights. We aim to defend the inclusion of disabled children and adults, by providing their parents and carers with the information and tools they need to assert their rights.

Solution

Created in 2013 by mothers of disabled children, TouPI has created a helpline that provides parents and caregivers of disabled children and adults with the information they need to defend the rights of their disabled loved one. TouPI empowers families by training caregivers in disability-related procedures via webinars. To break the isolation of caregivers, TouPI organizes parent cafés.

News

Use of the money

To implement its project, TouPI needs:
- a dedicated employee who responds to parents of disabled children
- software tools to organize and run its webinars
Why we love it?

When parents in distress identified a gap in the tools available to support their disabled child, instead of giving up, they decided to fill it by creating TouPI: a wonderful story of mutual aid and support between peers!

It's not because there are laws, it's not because I have rights that I'm entitled to defend myself; it's to the extent that I defend myself that my rights exist and that the law respects me.
