HealthInclusion
For 40 years, the Telethon has brought together people who refuse to accept fate and choose to take action to advance research and support those affected by rare diseases. On December 4 and 5, 2026, the Telethon will be back, and just as it has been for nearly 40 years, EDF will be there!

Use of the money
The money raised by the Telethon is used primarily to fund medical research and provide support to patients and their families.
Nearly half of the funds are used to finance research programs, projects, and clinical trials on rare genetic and neuromuscular diseases through its laboratories—such as Généthon, a leader in gene therapy—and the researchers it supports.
One-third of the budget funds services designed to help patients in their daily lives—from access to diagnosis and appropriate care to local support for families—with a focus on finding innovative solutions and meeting patients’ needs.
Less than 20% is allocated to the association’s administrative costs and the organization of the Telethon.
