The project
InclusionPoverty
Every year, 100,000 people leave prison in France, 80% of them unaccompanied, leading to a high rate of recidivism: 59% are re-convicted within 5 years of release, and 33% within a year.
WKF offers a framework for rebuilding after prison, and helps people to mobilize in their efforts to reintegrate. The aim is to restore people's confidence in themselves and in society, and to remobilize them by preparing a professional project.

Solution
Wake up Café offers full-time reception Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. On site, the people supported, called wakeurs take part in group workshops in the morning and afternoon, and benefit from individual tailor-made follow-up by an integration officer and an employment officer to support them in their various endeavors.

Why we love it?
Leaving prison can leave you feeling empty. We like this project because it brings a glimmer of hope to ex-prisoners, who are often forgotten, offering them the chance to regain their self-esteem and engage constructively with society.
WKF changed everything for me, both in my personal reconstruction and in my professional environment. I was able to take the time to get to know myself. When I walk through the door of Wake up Café, I know I can be me.
